PRE-TRYOUT GIRLS CLUB OPEN GYMS

Our open gyms are a great way for parents and players to meet some of our coaching staff and have any questions answered prior to tryouts. We highly recommend players to attend our open gyms so they can meet potential coaches and teammates.

  • (Sunday) October 16th, 14s and younger from 6:00-8:00pm (Location: James Logan HS)
  • (Sunday) October 30th, 15s and older from 6:00-8:00pm (Location: James Logan HS)

(NEW) BOYS CLUB PRACTICE PLAYER OPTION

This boys club season all teams will have 2-3 practice player spots. A "practice player" is someone who only participates in all weekly team practices but does not compete in NCVA tournaments. This is a great low cost option for players who either cannot afford the full cost of club or have other schedule conflicts during the club season.

Cost:$350.00 per player

If this seems like an option for you, please email Taryn Mar our program coordinator at tmar.ucelite@gmail.com

Announcement: Girls 14U and 15U Makeup Tryouts

UC Elite will be holding makeup tryouts for those who were unable to attend our tryouts last Saturday, but are interested in trying out for either our 14U team or our 15U team.

Makeup tryout will be held on Sunday, November 15th at James Logan High School from 6pm to 8pm.

If interested, we ask that you please fill out google form for 14/15U found on our girls tryout page.

Individuals who attended the first tryout and would like to come tryout again are welcome to do so.

UC Elite Girls Teams to Only Participate in Tournaments

We've received various inquiries regarding whether our club teams will be participating in either Power League or Premier League. UC Elite will not be registering any of our teams in league play and, instead, will only be registering and participating in NCVA Sanctioned Tournaments, with some of our teams having the opportunity to participate in select SCVA Sanctioned Tournaments.

In our past experiences with League Play, we have found that other than Qualifiers and Regionals, our teams played against the same teams repeatedly. We feel that with such a format players are denied the opportunity to compete against different skill-leveled teams. Also, the amount of traveling for single-day tournaments are felt to be unreasonable and not cost-effective for coaches and families. In the past, our teams have had to travel as far North as Sacramento and as far South as Fresno and Clovis regions for Power League's single-day tournaments.

So, then what are the benefits of being a tournament team?
- Players are able to compete against a larger and diverse pool of teams over the course of two or three days.
- Families are given notice ahead of time of tournament dates and locations, thus enabling them to make travel accommodations earlier.
- Limiting of long-distance traveling.
- This allows extended family and friends to come and support players.
- Guarantee that official referees will officiate matches.
- Guarantee that teams will be playing in a venue (i.e. San Mateo Convention Center) rather than a city's local high school or middle school.

Should you have any other questions or want to know more about being a tournament team, please feel free to send them over to our Volleyball Coordinator, Dana Llarena.
